  • The Biltmore Estate is open 365 days a year with hours varying each season.
  • The estate is large, and you'll be doing a lot of walking. We strongly recommend you wear functional, comfortable shoes.
  • Don't skip the audio tour. While the headphone tour is optional and incurs a small fee, it provides phenomenal insights about the history and lore of this national landmark.
  • Reservations are required for your self-guided visit on select dates.
  • Asheville is beautiful in the fall, and the Biltmore Estate's stunning gardens and Blue Ridge backdrop feature some of the best autumnal photo-ops in the country. For the perfect selfie, head to the front lawn and get that Instagram-worthy shot with the Downton Abbey-esque castle as your backdrop.
  • Saturday is the most popular day of the week to visit the estate. To avoid the crowds, we recommend visiting during the week.
  • During the winter, the Biltmore gets decked out with holiday lights, traditional decorations, and the opulent tree you expect from such a grandiose estate.
